**BEFORE YOU READ ** this letter is not for the weak. It seems rough, harsh and overbearing at times. I read it 3 times, but the right person understands my purpose in writing without fluff, bs, and extra sweet savoring nonsense that keeps people broke, unhappy, lonely, depressed and dream constipated. Here’s what you need to know:
GREATNESS IS INSIDE OF YOU — THE QUESTION ISN’T WHETHER YOU’RE GREAT, THE QUESTION IS ARE YOU WILLING TO DO WHAT IT TAKES TO GET GREATNESS OUT OF YOU?
It doesn’t matter who you are, where you live, whether you want to be a singer, a model, mother, an actor, or a lawyer… the question remains the same. Are you willing to commit your life to be great?
Are you STUCK with achieving your dream – because you don’t have the money?
Are you STUCK because you don’t have the time?
Are you STUCK because you don’t have the help?
Are you STUCK because you’re afraid of rejection… because you’re not really sure if “now” is the right time, if “people” will like your idea, if “you” can be successful like other people?
Maybe you’re not stuck. Maybe you just want more ways to be great in your own individual way.
I ask these questions because in less than 60 seconds you’re about to discover that most people who *claim* they want to be a boss, entrepreneur, or achieve super success are liars. They are so good at it, they actually believe it. In fact, they’ve probably got you to believe that YOU CAN BE A LIAR just like them – and “fake” your way to success. Fortunately, you’re reading this letter because you display some characteristics of wanting to be successful. However…
I bid farewell to anyone who WANTS SUCCESS but isn’t willing to work for it. I’ve gone to great, painstaking lengths to be successful in my own life and I have a very important message for those people who need more money, need more success, need more influence, need more popularity. For those people striving, getting there, but not there yet. This is for those dreamers who are about the HUSTLE so they can achieve “that life.” they so desperately seek. Well unfortunately… I have some bad news for you (and some good news later in this letter).
People say they want to be great.
They “think” they mean it. But deep down, they are lying.
If that sounds harsh, that’s okay, just give me a moment to explain. What I say in these next few paragraphs could change your life.
Many people live their life as if everything is a DESTINATION. You can get on a plane and get to New York or Paris very quickly, with very minimal work involved. However, greatness does not work this way. Before I go into detail I want to give you a little backstory.
I’m an entrepreneur, a real BOSS. I set my own hours, I do my own thing, I make my own money all day, everyday. People ask me all the time how and why I’m successful. Authors ask me all the time “how did you do it?” I tell these authors over and over, that it was hard work. The work outworked me until I outworked it back.
I wasn’t even planning on being an author, but now I have thousands upon thousands of fans all over the world and I make 100% of my income AT MY HOUSE (or on vacation) simply because I did the work to be great.
Please don’t take this as bragging — because I want you to understand that you can do to it too. In my new entrepreneur workshop, I guide people on how they can become self-published authors build a name for themselves, and make money, and lots of it.
One of the things I realized while creating this new program is that the majority of people would rather LIVE with their LIE than face their TRUTH — that they really don’t want to be successful or achieve greatness at all. They want it as bad as they want a million dollars. But they don’t want it with the intensity of a pregnant woman in labor. They don’t want it with the intensity of a Fireman who only has 60 seconds to save a life.
They just want the END. They don’t want the journey. It’s as if you sat down at a movie theatre just to see the ending credits. What a waste. Before you can appreciate the credits you need to marvel at their work.
It’s the same exact thing for you to be an amazing, popular, profitable AUTHOR, ENTREPENEUR, EXECUTIVE, ACTOR, SINGER, MODEL or PUBLIC SPEAKER. You can’t expect to arrive at destination without enduring the journey from point A to point Z.
I don’t mean to be rude but, did you really think you could achieve greatness by doing the work from point A to point Bt? Absolutely not!! Circumstances, life, relationships and opportunities will require the entire alphabet of your soul!
This lazy “destination thinking” is what causes people with amazingly extraordinary talent to spend years in failure, setbacks and disappointments. So what you will discover today, is a NEW mindset to achieve success and greatness.
Nothing magical, just simple and practical. And by the way, although my advice was originally intended for people who want to publish a book (or make money as a second income stream) this applies to ANYBODY who truly wants to achieve greatness. Let’s return to the airplane example. Because you NEED to grasp the reality of how “twisted” some people are — and why they block their own success! I don’t WANT THAT FOR YOU!
See, when you have destination thinking – all you do is show up, board and arrive.
- You don’t have to fly the plane. All you have to do is pack your bags, go through a security check, board the plane, sit, wait and arrive.
- You don’t have to load your baggage on the plane.
- You don’t have to understand how to fly the airplane.
- You don’t have to check the wiring underneath the plane.
- You didn’t have to go to school to learn how to fly the plane, or how to fix it, or how to maintain it.
- You don’t have to deal with the hundreds of other upset customers who’s flight was delayed for some “technical” reason.
- You don’t have to run security at the airport to care for your own security.
- You don’t have to watch from a tower to make sure your the planes don’t collide in midair.
- You don’t have to understand the navigation system on the plane. You don’t have to LISTEN to the FLIGHT ATTENDANT tell you anything. (More on this in a minute)
See, not much work involved. Show up, board, and arrive. You can sleep your way to your destination. But not with greatness. You can get your Subway sandwich
The #1 Thing You Must Understand Before You Attempt to Make More Money, Increase Popularity or Be Super Successful
GREATNESS is JOURNEY.
You don’t show up and sleep your way through it. It requires manual labor. It requires everything you’ve got, night and day, hour by hour.
But first, let’s ask what is greatness?
Greatness is that thing inside you that tells you that you are MORE THAN WHAT YOU ARE. It’s when you know you’re great, people around you know you’re great, and people who don’t know you, are impacted by who you are – as a great person. For the struggles, failures, accomplishments you’ve achieved.
It tells you that you can be an actor, singer, entrepreneur, executive, lawyer, doctor, inventor, scientist, President or a well-known author. It may even tell you that GREATNESS is being the best you can be for yourself and your family. Only you know what your individual greatness is. But here’s the problem.
When great people try to help other people achieve greatness, MOST people don’t listen — like the people who “ignore” the flight attendants.
I have yet to figure out why people have such a problem with receiving help or doing what it takes to GET help to achieve greatness.
People say they want to be millionaires, but they’re too lazy to get rich or make a name for themselves.
It takes effort to sit down and write about something you’re passionate about, to actually FINISH what you START.
I’m hoping that you will read this at least three times, three times, three times, just to make sure you hear it, your body hears it and your spirit hears it. That’s 3 times. Not 1, not 2, but 3. THREE!!! So what is this mindset shift that keeps people from achieving dreams, wealth and greatness?
Most people go to work at 9AM get off at 5pm. As long as they show up, and “do their time” they get paid.
- If they work while browsing Facebook – they get paid.
- If they work while talking on the phone – they get paid.
- If they have a bad attitude for the entire 8 or 10 hour shift – they get paid.
- If they make mistakes during the day – they get paid.
- If they want to call in sick (and they’ve accumulated enough hours) – they get paid from their sick pay.
- If they want to take a vacation (and they’ve accumulated the hours) – they can take a vacation from vacay. PTO =paid time off
- If they do a half decent job, they get paid.
- If they don’t care about doing the job, they get paid.
- If they only care about getting paid, they get paid.
- If they have a bad morning, they get paid.
As long as they get up in the morning, show up to work, and can endure at least 8 -10 hours of performing the task at hand, they will get paid.
You don’t have to CARE about anything except a PAYCHECK.
But if you want to achieve GREATNESS, none of these rules apply to you. None of them.
To be GREAT, to be SUCCESSFUL, to MAKE more money (than your friends and family) you must GROW INTO THE TYPE OF PERSON WHO DOES THE UN-NECESSARY, EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO PAYCHECK TO BE FOUND.
You must get stuff done, when you don’t feel like it.
You must work over time.
You must have a good attitude about what you do.
You must care about someone or something other than yourself
Your mistakes AFFECT YOU and YOUR INCOME
The only paycheck you get – is the paycheck you FIGHT FOR with your own skills and talents.
In other words, you have to become a TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON. So although people say they are a BOSS. It’s a lie.
You are not a BOSS until you can BOSS yourself and achieve personal, professional and financial success from your bossing.
Greatness requires you to be great. From the attitude you have when you wake up, to the tasks you perform (without surfing facebook), to the time you go to sleep.
If you want to be an actor, singer, doctor, lawyer, or an author – you have to BE GREAT in EVERYTHING you do.
If you’re struggling to achieve success or make your dreams come true, it’s probably because you are NOT willing to be GREAT to achieve greatness.
I’m not saying you won’t achieve some success… anybody can be “halfway great.” Sure you’ll grow a fan base, you’ll do some interviews, you’ll make some money. But if you really want to make a name for yourself, have people screaming and crying when they see you, have people bombarding you with fan mail, have thousands of followers all over the world, BEGGING to see you in person… thousands of people who tell their friends, family, pets and strangers about you…
… then you must be willing to BE GREAT.
When you don’t want to.
When you don’t feel like it.
When nobody’s watching.
When it hurts.
When you can’t breathe.
OH – and even when you don’t get paid
These are just a few of the things it takes to be great.
The next time you think about taking Saturday off, going to hang out, or just barely practicing, just barely researching, researching just a little bit, remember these words:
Don’t treat your dream like a DAY JOB.
Greatness is available to us all as long as you are willing to be great in all that you do.
