Why Selling Yourself Matters!

10.23.13 Posted in Video by

Each day my inbox is flooded with emails from amazing women like you…women who are seeking and searching for solutions, for guidance on how they can start or grow their business. It’s not easy. I GET IT. Believe me, I do. Just a few short years ago, I was on the other side of this blog, looking for the same answers you are. And, guess what? At that time, it was pretty hard to find anyone I could relate to who would hand hold me and provide me with the guidance I needed.

Let me ask you a question: how many books, businesses and passions live inside of you – laying dormant – waiting to be unleashed?? From what I can see, there are SO many of you who are walking around with SO much to offer, so much to give, so much to contribute, yet…you struggle to find a way to unleash your creative expressions into the world in a way that will financially sustain you. After all, while we’re making our dreams happen, we still need to pay bills, buy food and clothes, put a roof over our heads, support our kids, etc.

As a matter of fact, very recently, someone said to me: “Shanel, going to work everyday is like watching paint dry…and if I’m honest with myself, it’s totally unrelated to my real passions…”

Does this feel like you?

Well, the fact that so many of you are struggling, made me wonder: what is it that is holding so many entrepreneurs back from their success? And, guess what I realized? You don’t know how to SELL yourself.

It’s no secret that there are plenty of marketing and selling strategies that “successful” people are using that others can’t seem to figure out. Being able to present yourself, market yourself, communicate your value and SELL what it is that you offer is one of the most important contributing factors to the success of your business. I learned how to present myself at a very young age, and it has been something that has developed naturally and effortlessly for me. I eventually realized that this is not the same for everyone. This is my gift, it’s my passion and it’s what I’m here to teach. I know now, that one of the reasons why I’m so successful and so passionate about what I do today is because I know my value and I know how to sell myself.

Don’t get me wrong, I know what it feels like to struggle. In case you don’t already know, I’ve made many mistakes along my path of entrepreneurship. Tons of them. As a matter of fact, I’m still making them. I’ve failed many times on my path to success. And, no matter what – no matter how many times I’ve failed – I never stopped. No matter how many times I’ve fallen – or how hard I’ve fallen – I’ve always gotten up, brushed myself off and kept moving.

Whether you’re starting (or growing) your business, knowing exactly what to do, how to do it, why to do it, when to do it and who can help you do it does not come easy. And for THAT reason, I’m committed to continuing to help women break through these barriers.

You certainly can’t make six figures without the right guidance. It’s nearly impossible. Although I can NOW work from ANYWHERE and do what I want, when I want… it was a process. I will never forget the thousands of headaches and dollars I spent on books, CDs, tapes, programs and trial-and-error trying to get where I am today.

Earlier this year, I held a very exclusive Entrepreneur Bootcamp, and it was absolutely phenomenal. It was the first time I had opened up about my business, and shared so much “behind the scenes” information. Were you there? If not, you can learn more about it here.

In the meantime, I’d love to know what you’re struggling with on your entrepreneurial path. Be sure to comment below and let me know where you need support, ok?

Love you!
